Welcome to our blog!

This is The Sport Report presented to you by Jon, Banks and Danny. We are a high school radio show broadcasting from Vaughan, Ontario. We go on air every Thursday at 11:50am to bring you the latest and greatest in sports news.

Our story this week is about the Toronto Raptors and their great finish to the regular season. The Raptors were struggling during the first two months of the season and overall didn’t get off to the start they were hoping for. In December, that all changed when they traded Rudy Gay, Quincy Acy and Aaron Gray to the Sacramento Kings. In return, the raptors received Greivis Vasquez, John Salmons, Patrick Patterson and Chuck Hayes. This trade sparked a winning streak for the raptors as they improved their record throughout the season to be where they are now, sitting in third seed in the Eastern Conference awaiting the playoffs.

Even since the playoff clinch on March 28th, the Raptors have not stopped battling and have showed tremendous strength, leading to a 5 game winning streak in the final games of the regular season. The Raptors face their division rival, The New York Knicks at the Air Canada Centre tonight and with a Toronto win, the Raptors will clinch the Atlantic Division title for the first time since the 2006-2007 season.
